FACTS ABOUT THE PUREBREDS YOU BUY!

In 1994, Time Magazine estimated that as many as 25% of purebred dogs were afflicted with serious genetic problems.

An estimated 40% of all Standard Poodle deaths are from cancer.

Some dogs are forced to live in puppy mills for their entire lives to produce puppies.

Large, black breed dogs such as Labrador Retrievers, Giant Schnauzers and Standard Poodles are predisposed to developing malignant tumours called Squamous Cell carcinoma.

WHY ADOPT SHELTER ANIMALS

This is why so many purebreds have serious medical problems which often causes the animal pain and suffering and costs owners a fortune.

There are currently an estimated 200 mills in operation all over British Columbia, many of which produce the kind of aggressive dogs that pose a danger to society.

Puppy mills and backyard breeders are the single greatest cause of pet overpopulation.
