The calves are fed a milk substitute lacking in iron and other essential nutrients to keep the animals anemic . This causes stomach upset and diarrhea. This is done to create a pale pink or white colored meat.

Farmers withhold water from the animals so they will drink the unhealthy milk substitute.

In these horrid conditions, many calves develop many diseases, including chronic pneumonia and diarrhea. Antibiotics is given to them to keep them alive, so when eating veal, the consumer is also eating antibiotics.

The veal you eat is lacking in fiber and other nutrients, is full of chemicals, and is often diseased!
